Xumee

DAC Chip: Realtek ALC5686
PCM 32bit – 384kHz, DNR: -110db, Power: 1 Vrms, USB Type-C Male, 3.5mm SE (Microphone: YES), Metal Chassis & SPC Cable

LISTENING EQUIPMENT USED IMPARTED HUGE INFLUENCE TO SOUND IMPRESSIONS & RATING

💚PROS

💔CONS

  • Amazon only release
  • May suffer from QC issues, if you are lucky you get a great copy, with $12 there has to be a compromise since this is not a bespoke handmade unit, it is an assembly line product, probably with near zero QC (just like tons of other ultra budget Dongles)

VERDICT

Xumee. After extensive listening sessions with all of my regular equipment, I drew conclusion that this Dongle unit actually shared the exact OEM Realtek ALC5686 DAC Chip internally as ZOOAUX 1st Gen, from the same factory, but finished and packaged under different brand for Amazon only release. It makes perfect sense as they are in similar form factor despite different exterior cosmetics. There’s no sonic differences that I observed between the two. Automatically Xumee ranks identical to ZOOAUX. It is also worth to mention that the advertising photo on Amazon site is inaccurate as it exhibited ALC4042 instead of ALC5686. I have verified this with TTGK Android app which allowed the user to inspect the hardware specifications of any Dongles attached to the phone.

⭐⭐⭐⭐ ($12.00)

Best Pairing: Flexible for anything less demanding under 100Ω

My site is entirely hosted by WordPress and I depend on their setup. What you see here about the simplest design possible as I don’t even use any pre-made templates. All created from blanks. Furthermore I don’t have iPhone 4 so it will be hard to fine tune from that perspective. Cheers

Thanks. The funny thing is I use a blank WordPress template and just add stuffs that I want to share as if I am using a Microsoft Word. LOL

Would this dongle be better than the Apple dongle in every aspect? I use an S22 Ultra and the volume with the Apple dongle is weak although I love the sound it delivers.
