LISTENING EQUIPMENT USED IMPARTED HUGE INFLUENCE TO SOUND IMPRESSIONS & RATING
💚PROS
- Neutral balanced timbre, clean sound
- Mild, well controlled dynamics
- Smooth Treble, fast decays
- Forward Mids with neutral tonality, realistic vocals
- Solid edged tone for percussions and guitars
- Fast, snappy Mid-Bass
- Great speed and transients
- Clean layers separation and imaging
- Good Macro Details, depends on how resolving the paired IEMs/Buds/HPs are
💔CONS
- Weak driving power, anemic with high impedance or low sensitivity IEMs/HPs
- Caved in soundstage with mids being too closed in
- Layers separation feels congested
- Not great with Lo-Fi
- Sub-Bass barely audible
- Does not work with iOS
VERDICT
Baseus Type-C. Not much to talk about this unit. It is simply too average even within the ultra budget price range. Biggest issue being narrow sounding with caved in soundstage and weak driving power. Even with HZSOUND Heart Mirror and Moondrop Aria, two of my most efficient IEMs the volume needed over 60/100 to attain proper loudness. With Etymotic ER4SR needed 80/100 and TIN HiFi P1 100/100. It was outright dry and thin sounding on anything above 45 Ohm or below 100bd of sensitivity.
While it is admirably clean sounding, dynamics are somewhat lean with mild bass responses and rolled off Treble exhibiting fast decays. Speed was surprisingly great with great resistance to congestion.
⭐⭐⭐($4.00)
Best Pairing: Technically adept IEMs/Earbuds under 50Ω
